Beven, K. J

Hydrology in practice / Keith Beven, Nick Chappell, and Rob Lamb - 4th ed - London : Taylor & Francis, 2008 - p. cm

Previous ed.: published as by Elizabeth M. Shaw. Abingdon: Routledge, 2004

Since it first appeared in 1983, this textbook has become the standard for undergraduate and Masters-level hydrology courses in Britain. The goal is to provide engineering hydrologists with the training necessary in hydrological measurements and analysis to be able to manage surface and groundwater water resources, floods, and droughts. Among the changes subsequent editions have incorporated is the privatization of water from single government water agencies to a plethora of regulated capitalist enterprises in each locality. A team of four British hydrologists maintain the tri-part arrangement--measurement, analysis, and engineering applications--and add a new section on the future of hydrology. Spon Press is an imprint of Taylor and Francis.
